Here is a large Hornsea Pottery vase from the 'Cascade' range designed by the legendary John Clappison and manufactured for a very short period from 1964 to 1965. In a groovy waisted shaped with a flared rim it is decorated to the lower half of the vase with a very dark blue irridescent type oil glaze and from the middle to the rim is a fabulous pale blue glaze applied to give a drippy effect - this continues for an inch or two inside the rim. It has a lovely high gloss finish overall and is an extremely decorative item which would be a valuable addition to any Hornsea or studio pottery collection. Marked to the base with 'HORNSEA ENGLAND' and the number '98'.
