MID-CENTURY TEXTILE MODERN RETRO

1950s 1960s 1970s FABRIC DESIGN

Welcome to Pips Trip
• Retro Textile selection •

Quite apart from being a revolutionary time in terms of ceramics and glass, the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s also saw an emergence of adventurous textile design. From the cutting-edge Lucienne Day fabrics retailed in the 1950s and 1960s at Heals in London to the fabrics Terence Conran was designing for sale at his own store Habitat, to my own personal favourite, the incredible psychedelic designs from Verner Panton. As we go well into the seventies and confront the huge overblown patterns popular in wallpapers and texiles at the time - one can see that the inspiration is vast.

We regularly source good quality and pristine condition original textiles which we then have made up into a range of items including cushions and quilts but we also purchase new textiles, sometimes reprints of old designs, which again we have made up into various items for resale here. We sometimes come across unused and cellophane wrapped rolls of original wallpaper which we have made up into wall-panels of various shapes and sizes.

We're hoping eventually to stock a wide and varied range of funky soft-furnishings, tablecloths, tote bags and wall-panels - so watch this space! This is a new brand new addition to our site and we'll be adding items regularly.
