This is a lovely early piece of Mdina circa 1970 - it's what's known as an Inside Out vase and bears a nice early feature, the applied prunt stamped with the Maltese cross. These particular vases were designed by Michael Harris and only in production whilst he was still at the Mdina glassworks. It's thick and heavy and is made from swirly turquoise, clear and yellow glass to the outside and a vibrant yellow to the inside - the typical and trademark early palate of Mdina colours. Unsigned (again another early feature) with a flat polished base. Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
