SOLD Designed by the legendary late Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala (Finland) in 1968 here is a pair of 'Ultima Thule' candleholders - I've had bowls and glasses but never candleholders so I'd suggest that these were pretty rare. One still has the remains of the Iittala sticker and above it a slight manufacturing fault - not significant in my opinion and shown in the photograph of the sticker just above it. These are fabulous pieces of retro Finnish glass from a great designer and an iconic range. Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
