SOLD POTTERY ARCHIVES : British Pottery 1 : 1960's Hornsea Blue Stylised Bird Ashtray by John Clappison

SOLD

Here is a fabulous Hornsea Pottery stylised bird ashtray designed by the legendary John Clappison and manufactured during the 1960's.  In a vibrant blue glaze overprinted with black, we particularly like the Mary Quant daisy type eye, this is a fabulously groovy piece of retro ceramics that would be a valuable addition to any Hornsea or studio pottery collection.  Not marked to the base but unmistakeably Clappison/Hornsea - some of these were backstamped some weren't.   Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SIZE:  Width  6in/15cm    Weight  154g
