1975 Hornsea Pottery Hippo 'Newsprint' Series Mug by John Clappison

Designed by John Clappison here is a fabulous mug from the 'Newsprint' range - this one featuring the hippo (the range included various animal designs and background colours).  We can be specific about the date of this one, 1975, because it's included on the printed backstamp.  These are becoming highly collectable and are very decorative, yet usuable, items.   Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
