These are fabulous - a set of six 'Tivoli' pattern herb/spice jars with original cork stoppers designed by Susan Williams-Ellis for Portmeirion and said to have been inspired by a visit to the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.  With brilliant blue and brown stylised patterns on a white ground they have labels on which we're not entirely sure are original but which nevertheless show signs of age which say 'NUTMEG', 'BAY LEAVES', 'GINGER' and 'CLOVES', the final two are rubbed and unreadable.    A truly iconic and highly collectable pattern they are fully marked to the bases with a blue oval backstamp saying  'Tivoli Portmeirion Pottery Made in England'.  A must-have for any Portmeirion or retro ceramics collection.  Please see all photographs below for alternative views and close-ups.
