The Briglin Pottery in London W1, famous for their rustic pottery and wax resist glazes, was established in 1948 by Brigitte Appleby (nee Goldschmidt) and Eileen Lewenstein.  Dating from the 1970’s or thereabouts here is an extremely pretty plant pot.  Made from the typical dark brown pottery and decorated with the manganese oxide and wax-resist white glaze technique Briglin are famous for.  This is an absolute must for any Briglin or studio pottery collector.  Sometimes Briglin is stamped or marked, often it isn't - this particular piece is unmarked but appears in the Briglin Pottery book by Anthea Arnold.
