Here is a fabulous mid 1950s Hornsea Pottery vase from the 'Coastline' range, the shapes designed by John Clappison and the decoration by Colin Rawson.  It takes the form of a typically 1950s organic shape decorated with a crackly black and white glaze to the outside and a vibrant, again typically 1950s, light blue inner glaze.  Only in production for a short period as a result of the sometimes volatile glaze technique, items from this range are hard to come by.  Impressed to the base with 'E713 ENGLAND'.   Please click to see all alternative and close-up photos.
