Designed by the artist and illustrator Kenneth Townsend, brother of Dennis Townsend of Rye and Iden Potteries fame, here is a tile from the Menagerie series. With a white ground and decorated with a crazy stylised cow design screenprinted to the front in brown and black glazes, it dates from the 1960s/70s and is fully marked to the back 'Designed by Kenneth Townsend Made in England'.   Please see all photographs for extra views and close-ups.
