From the David Sharp Pottery in Rye, Sussex here is a large stylised bull made from a pale pottery which has been dipped in successive layers of brown glaze with a fantastic lustred finish to the final layer. Dating from the late 1960s or thereabouts this is a highly collectable piece of studio pottery. Scratched to the underside by hand are the words 'DT SHARP, RYE'. Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
