This is an interesting piece of retro East German pottery from the Strehla factory.  In an unusual cube/square shape with a glossy blue ground and decorated to two sides only with a swirly black pumice glazed pattern - the other two sides being plain blue glaze.  No marks to the base other than the word 'Foreign' stamped in white which means this would originally have been manufactured for the export market.  A very decorative item.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SIZE:  Height  5in/12.5cm    Sides  3in/7.5cm (square)    Weight  404g

(08/21.25)
