This is an amazing example of fat lava - a Roth Keramik vase with a glossy orange bulbous base above which been has dripped a very thick and crusty matt black lava glaze.   This is one of our favourite pieces and is a magnificent specimen of retro West German pottery.  Still bearing it's original red and gold foil manufacturer's label and marked to the base with W.GERMANY 111'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
