From Strehla VEB (East Germany) and dating from the 1950's or thereabouts here is an unusually elegant piece of retro East German pottery with a cream high gloss glazed ground and hand-painted with black stripes. In an unusual, stylised shape (it matches the handled piece shown below) and with an angular rim - this is very decorative.
