Dating from the 1960s here is an incredible lava glazed floor vase from Otto Keramik designed by the legendary Otto Gerharz and Kurt Tschorner.  This matches the vase above however at 19 inches it's almost twice the height and weighs a staggering 6470g!  I've personally never seen such a huge piece of Otto Keramik - this is, in my opinion, the Big Daddy of Fat Lava!  Fully hand-made, as above, very few would have been produced which, combined with its size, makes this an extremely rare and desirable vase.  It looks breathtaking on display - with a red drippy gloss glazed base topped off with chunky, bubbly black lava and a dark blue glazed interior.  Someone has at some point picked off the felt that would have been on the base (presumably to see if the vase was marked in any way and not realising that the felt was an original feature).   Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SIZE:  Height 19in/48cm    Weight 6470g
