Dating from 1962 here is a brilliant ceramic vase from the 'Atelier' range by Heinz Siery for Carstens Tonnieshof. In an iconic shape (hence the UFO name) and with a shiny blue glaze to the top, a band of blue and white lava glaze to the central band and a grey/black lava glaze to the lower section. This is an extremely decorative piece that looks seriously funky on display. Marked to the base with the shape and size number plus W. Germany however the lava glaze has covered and infilled the marks so they are illegible. Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
SIZE: Height 6.5in/16.5cm Weight 505g
CONDITION: Good original condition - there is a very shallow oyster flake of glaze loss to the bottom rim (shown in the extra photographs) but otherwise no chips, cracks or hairlines.
