Fortunately one of these lovely glasses still has it's original gold and black foil label which reads 'JH Elegance Made in England' but, apart from this information we know nothing else about the company. However, we do know that they're decorative and usuable items with a wonderfully typically late 1960s space/bubble motif running down the sides and a textured surface pattern elsewhere - this is a set of two tumblers - one with it's original foil label. These are simply stunning - the photographs do not do them justice or convey the true inky blue colour of the glass which, in reality, is a much purplier hue. This is a great example of a 1969 glass vase designed by Nanny Still for the famous Riihimaki glassworks in Finland. A lovely piece of amber/straw coloured glass encased in clear in an ovoid/balloon shape. It displays beautifully and would be a worthy addtion to any retro Scandinavian glass collection. Dating from between 1964 and 1976 here is a funky mould-blown uranium glass 'Pala' or ice vase designed by the legendary Helena Tynell for the Riihimaki/Riihimaen glassworks in Finland. These come in various colours and sizes - this one is in uranium glass which glows wickedly under a blacklight (see the last photograph) and is one of the medium sized vases from the series.
