This is a Bo Borgstrom design we've not come across before - a tall slightly tapering cylindrical shape in purple glass cased in clear and with a very unusual moulded/faceted base. Dating from the 1980s this is what's known as a 'Top Hat' vase by the Mdina glassworks in Malta (founded by Michael Harris in the late 1960s). Thick and heavy it has a blue glass base with wavy clear glass strapping and fading to a wide/flared pale pink/lilac rim. This is a pretty unusual pot by the West German ceramics manufacturer Spara and designed by Halidan Kutlu - a Turkish designer who worked for Spara from 1971-1972 (his designs are recognisably middle-Eastern in inspiration and appearance).
