Barware/Cutlery/Mats/Coasters

Designed by the legendary late Gerald Benney in 1960 for the famous Sheffield stainless steel manufacturer, Viners, we have a set of six boxed Sable pattern grapefruit spoons in unused condition.   The box is a tiny bit tatty to the outside but amusingly still has it's original sheet of (now yellow) white tissue paper inside.  Sable, like Studio another famous Benney design, has a fabulous textured surface pattern to the handles - see close up photos.  To give an idea of size they are slightly bigger than teaspoons.

Worcester Ware produced tin and metal household items during the 20th century and, in the early 1960s, in an effort to revive their flagging sales they started to produce printed metal cork-backed placemats and tin trays with more contemporary designs - including their very well-known Beatles range.  This particular set of mats, although dating from about 1962, actually have a typically late 1950s feel to the design of delightful stylised Parisian scenes.  This is a full set of 6 placemats - 2 each of 3 different designs: 'La Madeleine', 'Place Au Teatre - Montmartre' and 'Notre Dame de Paris.'

CONDITION:  In lovely original condition - they look virtually unused.  One mat has a slight bend to the edge in one place but it can mostly only be seen from the underside and does not, in my opinion, detract in any way - mentioned for accuracy.

Here we have for sale a boxed set of Viners/Royal Swedish Collection by Gense set of 6 fish knives and forks dating from the late 1960s/early 1970s - the box is also marked with Ranka Tableware.  I haven't been able to find out an awful lot about this range but with famous names behind them like Viners and Gense they're obviously great quality and sit nicely in the hand.  Still in their original box which has been written on and is a little shabby in places and bears a Royal Warrant on the box which reads 'By Appointment to the late King George V Cutlers and Silversmiths Viners Ltd.'

Yet another great stainless steel barset - still in it's original box with a great retro image to the front and in totally unused condition.  The set consists of 5 pieces with rosewood handles - various different items for opening bottles and cans - all essential bar items!  We've no idea currently who made this set - there's no manufacturer mentioned on the box and the items themselves are simply marked 'Stainless Steel Foreign'.
