Bay/Scheurich/Roth/Lava ceramics

From Ceramano here is a funky four disk 'Korrelle' wall hanging dating from the late 1960s.  With a fabulous op-art style red and black glazed bullseye design it would be a fantastic addition to any retro/vintage West German pottery collection.  Hand marked to the underside of the second disk with '312 Korrelle Ceramano Handarbeit' and with the original hanging rope.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is absolutely brilliant - a rectangular wall plaque decorated with splashy brown glazes and applied circular raised pieces to the centre glazed in vibrant orange gloss.  It's a truly fabulous piece and looks fantastic in today's retro inspired interiors.  Fully marked to the back and with it's original metal hanging hook.   Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups. 

This is absolutely brilliant - a West German planter dating from the 1960s decorated with a bright orange gloss glaze with a contrasting dark pumice glazed spiral.  It's quite a generous size too.   Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups. 

They don't come much funkier than this that's for sure!  A wonderful four disk pottery wall hanging dating from the late 1960s and undoubtedly West German - quite probably from one of the quality potteries - perhaps Ruscha or Schaffenacker judging from the wonderfully colourful glazes.  Consisting of four disks of equal size, the base disks made from a rough textured matt brown clay decorated with high gloss brown glazed balls and bright orange circular glazed cups.  All threaded together with a piece of leather stringing.  Hand marked to the underside of the last disk with the initials 'HT'.  Fabulous!  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is large and extremely unusual - a West German floor vase from from Bay Keramik dating from the 1960s or thereabouts in a great handled shape and decorated with a regular impressed pattern which has been overglazed in a caramel coloured semi-matt glaze.  Fully marked to the base with 'BAY W-GERMANY 255-45' where 255 is the form number and 45 being it's size in centimetres.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

From the highly collectable West German ceramics manufacturer Roth, here is a funky piece of retro pottery.  Decorated in a striking colour combination of what I've described as tan, except it's got an olive green tinge to it, splashed randomly with a bright purple glaze (my photographs make the purple appear bluer than it is in reality).  Funky!  Marked to the base simply with '7104'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a pretty rare pot by the West German ceramics manufacturer Spara and designed by Halidan Kutlu - a Turkish designer who worked for Spara from 1971-1972  (his designs are recognisably middle-Eastern in inspiration and appearance).  Not much is known about Spara in general so I can't elaborate further however as you can see from photographs it's a large and extremely decorative vase in a great handled shape glazed in a glossy brown and with an impressed patterned band around the central section.  Marked to the base with 'SPARA 553/31' with 553 referring to the shape number and 31 to the height in centimetres.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Dating from the 1950s here is a stunning and rare cat vase decorated in the 'Tigris' decor of a shiny black gloss ground with yellow and white handpainted lines, from the West German ceramics manufacturer Schmider.  This is a rare and extremely decorative piece of retro West German ceramics, marked to the base simply with 'Foreign.'  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
