1960s Large Smokey Grey Cascade Glass Piggy Bank
1960s Large Smokey Grey Cascade Glass Piggy Bank

SOLD

This is a large glass piggy bank made by the now defunct British glass makers, Cascade.  In a stylish smokey grey coloured glass it's a very decorative item and would make a fabulous gift.  We know that Cascade produced some of the smaller uncased gulvvases for the Danish glass manufacturer Holmegaard who outsourced several items to Cascade for production during the 1960s/1970s.  It bears a resemblance to the Bang/Holmegaard piggy banks but the main difference being that the Holmegaard piggies are knobbly rather than smooth but it's a possibility that the Holmegaard piggies may also have been produced under licence by Cascade - this has not yet been confirmed or otherwise however.
