SOLD 'Cordon' is probably one of the most common hankie vase patterns in production from the early 1960s to the early 1980s, however, this particular colourway of vibrant orange and white is so funky we couldn't resist it! SOLD The 'Calypto' pattern of stylised eucalyptus leaves and flowers was designed in 1959 by the legendary and illustrious late Michael Harris (of Mdina and Isle of Wight glass fame). Here we have a large water or lemonade jug decorated in the 'Calypto' pattern and with a gorgeous thick gold rim and a polished base pontil. A wonderful early example of the work of Michael Harris. This is a gorgeous purple glass paperweight from Caithness Glass who are, quite rightly, famed for their amazing and highly collectable paperweights as well as their other glassware. This has a flat 'window' showing a central bubble surrounded by purple, green and white swirls and was designed by Helen MacDonald - this particular design called 'Vortice' came in various other colours and was retired in 1999. SOLD We particularly like these Domhnall O'Broin designs for Caithness - the shape of these have such a groovy space-aged shape and the smoked glass of the bowl is so typical of the late 1960's. Thickly encased in clear glass (the base is 1in/2.5cm thick) it's quite a large size (we also have a smaller version) and is a heavy item which looks fantastic on display, particularly in contemporary interiors where it looks very much at home! This is a great item with a racy provenance! Designed in 1969 by Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass the raised surface design of what look at first glance like daisy type flowers is actually based on the human nipple - hence the name 'Nipple Vase' and it was considered a highly controversial and x-rated item at the time.
