1970 Riihimaen (Finland) 'Kasperi' Vase designed by Erkkitapio Siiroinen (signed)

code: RIIHI-KASPERI-ES
1970 Riihimaen (Finland) 'Kasperi' Vase designed by Erkkitapio Siiroinen (signed)
This is from Iittala/Riihimaki Riihimaen/Lasi Oy Glass

Dating from 1970 here is a fabulous mould blown 'Kasperi' clear glass vase designed by Erkkitapio Siiroinen.  These come in various colours and sizes - this is the medium size.  Fully signed to the base with 'Riihmaen Lasi Oy E T Siiroinen'.

SIZE:  Height 8in/20cm

CONDITION:  There is a chip/small hole in the glass to one of the 'crosses'.  Due to the nature of the glass and the design the damage is extremely hard to see and virtually impossible to photograph but nevertheless is there.  It doesn't detract in my opinion from the overall display impact of the piece but has been fully reflected in the asking price.

1975-1984 Iittala (Finland) 'Arnica' Vase by Tapio Wirkkala

code: IITTALA-ARNICA
1975-1984 Iittala (Finland) 'Arnica' Vase by Tapio Wirkkala
This is from Iittala/Riihimaki Riihimaen/Lasi Oy Glass

Designed by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala (Finland) the 'Arnica' vase came in two shapes - this one and a shorter squatter version - and was in production from 1975 to 1984.  With a fabulous icy-textured effect to the outside of the glass it's a great example of the work of the big Finnish designers at that time.  A really attractive piece of Scandinavian glass.

SIZE:  Height  7in/18cm   Weight  455g

CONDITION:  Really nice, clean and original - no chips, cracks or fleabites.

Pair of 1960s Whitefriars Soda Glass Bud Vases

code: 2XSCANDIBUD
Pair of 1960s Whitefriars Soda Glass Bud Vases
This is from Other Scandinavian Glass

I think these are very stylish vases indeed.  We have a pair - one in dark blue and the other in a smokey olive green glass dating to the 1960s.  We've recently positively identified these as being Whitefriars production from their soda glass range but haven't as yet pinpointed their exact pattern number.  Very decorative and beautifully crafted - as one would expect from Whitefriars.

SIZE:  Height  9in/23.5cm

CONDITION: Lovely original undamaged condition - light surface wear.

1966 Whitefriars Glass Large Ceramic Trailed Vase in Shadow Green (Pattern 9637)

code: CERAMICTRAILED
1966 Whitefriars Glass Large Ceramic Trailed Vase in Shadow Green (Pattern 9637)
This is from Whitefriars Glass

Dating from 1966 and designed by Geoffrey Baxter for Whitefriars here is a large Shadow Green ceramic (or enamel) trailed soda glass vase - pattern number 9637.  Only in production for a year or so few were made and, coupled with the fact that the ceramic trails proved problematic setting at different temperatures from the glass, even fewer left the factory - this is therefore a scarce item.

SIZE:   Height 10.5in/26.5cm

CONDITION:  Good original condition with no damage.  There is a degree of surface scratching to the outside and inside there's what looks at first inspection to be a triangular shaped burst bubble (not visible from the outside) but which I suspect is more likely to be an anomaly caused by the tongs during manufacture.  This has been reflected in the price however.
