1960s Broadstairs Pottery Child's Moneybox designed by Brian Sutherland

code: BROADSTAIRS-ELEPHANTMB
1960s Broadstairs Pottery Child's Moneybox designed by Brian Sutherland
This is from Other British Ceramics

This is a very pretty little cube shaped pottery moneybox decorated to each of it's four sides and the top with charming illustrations of animals.  Designed by the late Brian Sutherland for Broadstairs Pottery I'd estimate it to date from around the 1960s.  Marked to the base with '10-79' and still with it's original plastic stopper.

SIZE:  Height  3.25in/8cm

CONDITION:  Lovely original undamaged condition.

code: BW-ITALYDISH
1950s Italian Pottery Leaf-Shaped Trinket/Bon Bon Dish
This is from San Marino/Ceramica di Milano/Bertoncello/Italian Studio Pottery/Ceramics

What a fabulous piece of 1950s Italian pottery - a small leaf-shaped trinket/bon-bon dish decorated with a stylish black and white design.  It's virtually impossible to pin these types of Italian pottery down to a particular factory - marked simply to the base with '507 ITALY'.

SIZE:  Length  6in/15cm

CONDITION:  Lovely original undamaged condition.

1960s Strehla (East Germany) Lava/Pumice Glazed Planter

code: EG-STREHLAPLANTER
1960s Strehla (East Germany) Lava/Pumice Glazed Planter
This is from Bay/Scheurich/Roth/Lava ceramics

So funky - I love this - a pottery planter from the East German manufacturer Strehla and dating from the 1960s.  It has a very bright orange ground and is hand decorated with a fabulously swirly pattern in a green lava/pumice type textured glaze.  Unique and highly decorative.

SIZE:  Height 5.5in/13.5cm   Diameter 6in/15.5cm

CONDITION:  Really great original condition with no damage other than some scuffing to the base which is to be expected in an item of this vintage - see all photos.

code: LOTUS-DAISYBULLFIG
1960s Lotus Pottery (Stoke Gabriel, Devon) Stylised 'Daisy' Bull Figure
This is from Other British Ceramics

From the Lotus Pottery in Stoke Gabriel, Devon, here is a stylised bull figurine in the 'petal on sage' colourway of a dark sage green ground with a pale blue daisy decoration to each side.  Dating from the late 1960s these come in several sizes and were designed by Elizabeth Skipworth.  Not stamped but none of the bulls were.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SIZE:   Length  6in/15cm    Height  3.5in/9cm

CONDITION:  Lovely original undamaged condition.

1960s Ceramica di Milano (Italy) Small Lidded Trinket Box

code: MILANO-PINK3
1960s Ceramica di Milano (Italy) Small Lidded Trinket Box
This is from San Marino/Ceramica di Milano/Bertoncello/Italian Studio Pottery/Ceramics

I adore mid-20th century Italian pottery - especially the production from Ceramica di Milano and I think it's obvious why, they're so decorative.  This little pot (and I mean little - it's tiny) takes a slightly triangular form and would have been made to hold trinkets or keepsakes on a lady's dressing table - probably as part of a set.  It would make a charming and original gift.  Fully marked to the base.

SIZE:  Height:  3.5cm

CONDITION:  As one would expect with items of this vintage, there are a few signs of use - mainly a tiny nick to the edge of the lid but no damage elsewhere - the pot base is pristine.  Does not, in my opinion, detract from the decorative appeal however it has been reflected in the asking price.

1960s Ceramica di Milano (Italy) Double Ended Bud Vase

code: MILANO-VASE
1960s Ceramica di Milano (Italy) Double Ended Bud Vase
This is from San Marino/Ceramica di Milano/Bertoncello/Italian Studio Pottery/Ceramics

I adore mid-20th century Italian pottery - especially the production from Ceramica di Milano and I think it's obvious why, they're so decorative.  This vase is doubly brilliant - in both the shape and the decoration (isn't the girl in spectacles fabulous?).  Quite unusual this one I think.  Designed to hold two individual flower stems.  It would make a charming and unique gift.  Fully marked to the base.

SIZE:  Height:  16cm

CONDITION:  As one would expect with items of this vintage, there are a few signs of use - mainly one chip to the inside edge of the lower branch which can be seen clearly in the extra photographs provided.  There is no damage at all elsewhere on the vase that I can see - the rim of the taller branch is blemish free.  It doesn't, in my opinion, detract from the highly unique and decorative appeal of this particular item, however it has been reflected in the asking price.

1960s Ceramica Lombarda (Italy) Lidded Trinket Box

code: LOMBARDA-BOX
1960s Ceramica Lombarda (Italy) Lidded Trinket Box
This is from San Marino/Ceramica di Milano/Bertoncello/Italian Studio Pottery/Ceramics

I adore mid-20th century Italian pottery - especially this kind of production more usually associated with Ceramica di Milano (this is by Ceramica Lombarda).  We've sold various items from them over the years - always featuring charming illustrations of very pretty and typically 1960s girls - often surrounded by sponged grounds in pastel colours.  This is a large lidded pot decorated not only to the lid but more unusually with a different girl design around the outside of the base (these are more often than not left plain white).  Made to sit on a lady's dressing table to put jewellery and small trinkets in.  It would make a charming and original gift.  Fully marked to the base.

SIZE:  Height  6cm   Lid Diameter  12cm

CONDITION:  Fabulous original undamaged condition.

1960s 'Carnaby' Bone China Teacup & Saucer Duo by Elizabethan Pottery

code: CARNABY-ELIZ
1960s 'Carnaby' Bone China Teacup & Saucer Duo by Elizabethan Pottery
This is from Midwinter/Staffordshire/Ironstone

Dating from the late 1960s or thereabouts here is a bone china tea duo (consisting of a tea cup and matching saucer) in the glorious flower-power 'Carnaby' design from Elizabethan - a very decorative and funky design onto a bright white ground.  The cup and saucer have different base stamps however, my experience of pottery from Elizabethan shows that this is nothing unusual.  I rarely find sets with matching backstamps.

You'd be hard pressed to find anything much more iconic and representative of the era.

CONDITION:  Great original undamaged condition.
