Dating from the 1970s here is a cool Delphis vase decorated by Carol Cutler in the 1970s palette of orange, yellow and black. It has the Poole Dolphin stamp to the base, the shape number 31 and Carol Cutler's monogram.
SIZE: Height 3.5in/9cm
CONDITION: In lovely original condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. It does have a dob of orange glaze to the rim in one place (shown in the extra photos) which is clearly an original manufacturing flaw and has been reflected in the asking price.

1960s Bitossi Pottery (Italy) Blue & White Waisted Vase This is from Bitossi/Raymor Pottery/Ceramics

|
|
|
A very attractive piece of Bitossi and slightly unusual in having a white glazed band with a sgraffito design in between the more customary Rimini Blu glaze to the top and bottom. A very decorative piece that sits beautifully in both contemporary and retro-inspired interiors.
SIZE: Height 8in/20cm
CONDITION: Beautiful original condition - with no chips, cracks or hairlines. There is a manufacturing 'flaw' to the rim in one place (basically an overglazed dent) mentioned for accuracy but totally insignificant in our opinion. Shown to the right of the close-up rim photograph.

1960s Langley Pottery Planter designed by Glyn Colledge This is from Other British Ceramics

From the Langley Pottery (taken over by Denby in the late 1950's) here is an extremely collectable and decorative planter from the legendary late ceramics designer, Glyn Colledge and dating from the late 1960s. We've owned a few Langley pieces from this range and this is one of the nicest we've had - the colours on this particular pot are gorgeous. Stamped to the base with their windmill symbol and the words 'LANGLEY, Made in England'.

CONDITION: Lovely original undamaged condition.

1960s Sestri Levante Pottery (Italy) Glazed 'Fishes' Vase This is from Fantoni/Gambone/Italian Studio Pottery/Ceramics

I adore this fabulous little vase! With a groovy drippy matt black lava glaze to the top and bottom and in between colourful gloss-glazed decorations depicting fish and seaweed (different fish and colours to two sides). Marked to the bottom 'Sestri Levante' which is a town in the province of Genoa - this vase was most likely produced by a local pottery and sold to the burgeoning tourist trade at the time.
SIZE: Height 4.5in/11.5cm
CONDITION: Great original condition - with no chips, cracks or hairlines.

1950s/60s Sgraffito 'Horses' Wall Plate This is from Bay/Scheurich/Roth/Lava ceramics
|
|
|
|
This is a particularly attractive decorative wall plate but I haven't yet been able to find out anything about it. I suspect it's European production - possibly German and dating from the 1950s/60s or thereabouts. My photos don't really do it justice - the ground has a matt finish decorated with a sgraffito (scratched) decoration and, in the centre are two beautiful stylised horses in high gloss brown and white glazes. There are no makers or artists markings to the back - just a gold foil label which says 'Manuel Feulloch' - this is most likely a retailer's sticker.
SIZE: Diameter 9in/23cm
CONDITION: Lovely original undamaged condition.

|

|
Dating from the late 1950s or thereabouts here is a fabulous handled dish (to be used for nibbles or bon-bons I suspect - I'm fairly certain it's not a candleholder because there's no recess and the decoration would be obscured by the candle). I think these dishes are fabulous - we have five available in different colours for sale individually - this one has a lovely blue and black design. Impressed to the base with 'Villeroy & Boch Made in Luxembourg' however the impression has been infilled with glaze and is virtually impossible to read on this particular dish but is much clearer on some of the other dishes.
SIZE: Diameter plus handle 5.5in/13.5cm
CONDITION: Great original condition - no chips, cracks or hairlines.

1960s Bitossi Pottery (Italy) Elephant Moneybox This is from Bitossi/Raymor Pottery/Ceramics

|
This has now taken the top spot amongst my favourite 1960s Bitossi items! A simply gorgeous elephant moneybox decorated with sgraffito lines and applied disks glazed in the Rimini Blu colourway - this one in the slightly darker earlier glaze. We've sold all sorts of vintage Bitossi animals but never an elephant - don't miss out, this one's fab! Marked by hand to the underside '639 Italy'.
SIZE: Height 5.5in/14cm Length (tail to trunk) 6.5in/16.5cm
CONDITION: Lovely original condition - with no chips, cracks or hairlines. Bitossi glazes are generally quite fragile so small areas of glaze loss with older Bitossi items are to be expected and not mentioned specifically - please see all photos.

Designed in the 1950s by Marianne Westman for Rorstrand, one of the leading Swedish ceramic manufacturers, here is a fabulous lidded oven dish in the highly collectable 'Granada' pattern of handpainted stylised fruit, vegetables and leaves in coloured glazes with black highlights. An extremely usuable and decorative piece of retro Scandinavian pottery that would grace any collection. Fully marked to the base.
SIZE: Height 5.25in/13.5cm Length (handle to handle) 7.25in/18.5cm
CONDITION: Lovely original undamaged condition. There is however some crazing to the lid knob and a line of discoloured crazing to the underside of the lid (not a crack) which obviously cannot be seen when the lid is in place.
