Designed by the famous Norwegian designer Grete Prytz Kittelsen (Korsmo) in the 1950's here is a lovely Cathrineholm enamelled lidded pan in the 'Lotus' pattern.  In a fabulous blue enamel with the pattern in white around the side it has an elegant black handle with a matching black knob to the lid.  I believe this is a fondue pan - it has a ridge around the base which is for sitting on the stand above the burner.  Fully marked to the base with the circular backstamp which says 'MADE BY CATHRINEHOLM NORWAY'.  This is a lovely piece of retro Scandinavia enamelware.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Cathrineholm (Norway) Set of Four Red 'Lotus' Enamel Bowls by Grete Prytz Kittelsen (Korsmo)

SOLD

Designed by the famous Norwegian designer Grete Prytz Kittelsen (Korsmo) in the 1950's here is a lovely matching set of four Cathrineholm enamelled bowls in the 'Lotus' pattern.  In a fabulously vibrant red enamel with the pattern in white around the side - the pattern is larger on the two smaller bowls.  The set consists of a large bowl, a slightly smaller bowl and two slightly smaller again but the same size as each other.  Fully marked to the base with the circular backstamp which says 'CATHRINEHOLM OF NORWAY' - the backstamp has faded/worn away on two of the bowls but is very clear on the remaining two.  These are lovely pieces of retro Scandinavian enamelware which are becoming extremely collectable and highly sought after - especially in this vibrant red colourway.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Two Baret Ware (England) 'Flowertime' Supercrisp Biscuit Barrels

SOLD

Here are two matching groovy flower-power Baret Ware printed tin biscuit barrels, one large and one mini-barrel, made in England, and both with white carrying handles that swing down out of the way if needed.  Decorated in the 'Flowertime' pattern of bright orange and red stylised flowers with green leaves on a white ground.  With the special 'supercrisp' feature to the inside of the lids to aid freshness, both barrels have gold knob handles - the large barrel has a round handle and the mini-barrel has a more pointed handle.  These are fab - it's really nice to have two matching and they look absolutely crazy on display!

1970's Boxed Set of Four Betterware (England) Plastic Soup Bowls, Lids, Spoons and Trays
1970's Boxed Set of Four Betterware (England) Plastic Soup Bowls, Lids, Spoons and Trays

SOLD

For anyone into original plastic items from the 1970's this set is fabulous.  The colour - you either love it or hate it but avocado green was so typical of the period, then there's the fact that all items are boxed and in totally unused mint condition - the boxes themselves so brilliantly representative of the period.  This is a set of four matching soup bowls, with lids, spoons and trays (which have an indent for the bowl to sit in without moving) - I've put together one complete set to the front of the photograph.  The boxes, typically representative of 1970's design, are marked with 'Betterware Products Ltd, Romford, Essex, England'.  What more can I say about these other than they're groovy baby!

These are brilliant - from Carlton Ware and dating from 1970 is this wonderful salt and pepper set. Formed from two semi-spherical pieces that fit together to form a globe and with the insides decorated with a groovy stylised fish design in black.  These also came in white, this set is a dark orange, they are relatively rare and becoming highly sought after.  Still with their original plastic stoppers and marked to the bases 'Made in England' - this range generally weren't stamped with Carlton Ware but have been confirmed positively as Carlton Ware production.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

1960's Carlton Ware Flower Power Salt & Pepper Set
1960's Carlton Ware Flower Power Salt & Pepper Set

SOLD

These are great - so 1960's flower-power - here is a salt and pepper set from Carlton Ware in an unusual shape with flat multi-coloured flower shaped tops in yellow, orange, red, pink and purple.  They look brilliant on display and sit very well with other brightly coloured items from the same period.  We're not sure at the moment who designed them - it's possible they're by Vivienne Brennan but we've nothing concrete to go on other than the general style and colours used so this is a suggestion at the moment and not a positive attribution.  Marked to the bases with the Carlton Ware script backstamp saying 'Carlton Ware, Made in England' and still bearing their original white plastic stoppers.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

1967 Stelton (Denmark) Cylinda-Line Small Stainless Steel Salt & Pepper Set designed by Arne Jacobsen

SOLD

The Cylinda-Line stainless steel range, designed in 1967 by Arne Jacobsen for the Danish company Stelton, was a ground-breaking and award winning range still highly collected and sought after today.  Here is a very small salt and pepper set made from 18/8 stainless steel with a matte finish - we've had these salt and pepper sets before but this set are unusual in their size - they're very dinky indeed at just under 2 inches in height!  Small but perfectly formed they're unmarked but bear the unmistakeable design hallmarks of this famous range and still have their original plastic stoppers to the bases - iconic and fantastic!  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

1960's 'The Daily Grind' Ceramic Coffee Container with Wooden Lid
1960's 'The Daily Grind' Ceramic Coffee Container with Wooden Lid

SOLD

This is brilliant - the design to the front so typically late 1960's/early 1970's.  We have a ceramic coffee container with the words 'The Daily Grind' to the front in stylised psychedelic writing with a coffee grinder to the centre all on a white ground.  It has it's original wooden lid which is a little worn and shabby but is nevertheless original.  This looks fab on display and would make a great addition to a retro inspired kitchen.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SOLD

Designed by Per Lutken for Holmegaard (Denmark) here is a set of 6 'Canada' port wine glasses in the smoke colour.  They have become hugely collectable and currently command high prices, this particular size retails from £15 plus per glass at replacement china and crystal outlets - however, this set of 6 is extremely competitively priced at recently obtained auction prices and offers quite a saving.  They would make a super stylish gift and are also extremely usuable - imagine sipping port from one of these in front of a cosy fire at Christmas time!  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Hornsea Pottery Style Gourd Shaped Salt & Pepper Set
Hornsea Pottery Style Gourd Shaped Salt & Pepper Set

SOLD

Dating from the 1960s or thereabouts here's what I'm describing as Hornsea 'style' because although they're reminiscent of the Clappison designed Gourd shaped cruets Hornsea produced they're not identical and I have a feeling they may be by the Fulham Pottery in London.  Made from white pottery with dark green handpainted stripes and with interestingly sloped tops they're very pretty and extremely tactile.  Unmarked to the bases but still bearing their original stoppers.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SIZE:  Height  3.25in/8.5cm   Weight  85g

CONDITION:  Nice original condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines.

1960's Hornsea Pottery Blue & White Salt & Pepper Set
1960's Hornsea Pottery Blue & White Salt & Pepper Set

SOLD

Dating from the 1960's and from the famous English pottery, Hornsea, here is a wonderful salt and pepper set in a fabulous 'cut-out' type pattern in pale blue and white with a matching blue coloured tray for them both to sit on almost certainly designed by the legendary John Clappison.  Tall and elegantly tapering to the top and still bearing their original rubber stoppers the salt and pepper pots are not marked to the bases, neither is the base however they are unmistakeably Hornsea production.   I don't believe these have ever been used - they're in excellent condition and, with many salt and pepper pots that have been used you find the holes chipped from where things have been prodded into them over the years (usually a fork prong).  In this instance not only are the holes in pristine condition they are also rather too large for use - the salt pot in particular has a very large hole that would allow far too much salt out - this may well be the reason for their survival in such amazing condition.  They simply weren't practical to be used everyday and have been safely displayed instead.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SOLD

Designed in 1957 by the legendary late Timo Sarpaneva here is a brilliant boxed set of 6 'Tsaikka' mould blown-metal mounted glasses.  Although the glasses themselves were designed in 1957 and in production until 1977 the metal mounts didn't go into production until 1964 so we can date this particular set to between 1964 and 1977.  In their original plastic packaging and still bearing their 'Made in Finland I' red stickers these would be a fabulous addition to any retro Scandinavian glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

SOLD

Here is a pair of fantastic quality Finnish blue glass tumblers designed in 1958 by Kaj Franck for Iittala (marked on the bases).  The photograph doesn't really depict the true 'blueness' of the glass, being deeper in colour and less transparent in reality.  They're thick and heavy and you can feel the quality - they display beautifully near a light source and would make a lovely gift or addition to a glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
