Offered for sale here is a rare retro/vintage item from the Rorstrand Atelje (Studio) range - a large ceramic wall plaque designed by Bertil Lundgren and decorated with a fantastic butterfly in brown and blue glazes with a raised surface texture. This is an iconic example of Swedish design - marked to the reverse with the Rorstrand 'R' and three crowns studio mark, the artist's initials 'BL' and 'Sweden Galleri 2'. Here is a very stylish coffee cup and saucer from the leading Swedish manufacturer Upsala Ekeby and dating from the early 1960s. Made from a delicate white porcelain decorated with a cool black chequerboard pattern. We have 5 cups & saucers for sale separately, price given is for 1 cup & saucer duo. Fully marked to the base. Rorstrand (Sweden) 'Bla Eld' (Blue Fire) Small Teardrop Plate by Hertha Bengtsson

From the design classic 'Bla Eld '(Blue Fire) designed by Hertha Bengtsson for Rorstrand in 1949 we have a small side plate - manufactured between 1950 and 1971. In a fabulous teardrop shape and decorated with a herringbone type diagonal surface pattern in a blue high gloss glaze. We have four plates available in total - price given is for one plate.

Despite much research I'm afraid I've not yet been able to find out who designed or made this. It takes the form of a charmingly decorated glazed circular wall plaque decorated with birds sitting on branches in a tree. It has a John Clappison-esque feel to it but we know it's not a Clappison design - equally it could be by one of the Scandinavian factories. We have another of these tiles with the same decoration but in a brown glazed colourway, also currently for sale. We'd estimate them to date from the 1960s.
