Orrefors (Sweden) Blue 'Fuga' Vase by Sven Palmqvist |

SOLDDesigned in 1957 for Orrefors by the respected and collectable designer, Sven Palmqvist, and the technique he pioneered using centrifugal force still in production today - here is a beautiful vibrant blue crystal 'Fuga' tumbler vase. This range, which came in various sizes, shapes and colours, was in production from 1954 until 1983 and won the Grand Prix at the Milan Trienalle in 1957. Fully marked to the base (see photograph) with 'Fuga Orrefors' this is a beautiful quality piece of retro glass that looks fantastic on display. SOLD Here is a fantastic large pale blue and opal cased glass Holmegaard Gulvase with original globe shaped ornamental stopper designed by Otto Brauer in the 1960's. It's a very large example at 17.5in/44cm tall (including the stopper) in the collectable pale blue/white colourway with the flat flared rim typical of this range. It looks amazing on display and is hard to find in this size with an original large decorative stopper. An absolute beauty and an iconic piece essential for any serious retro glass collection. 1960's Swedish Large Yellow Baluster Shaped Glass Vase |

This is fabulous - dating from the 1960's or thereabouts here is a large pale yellow glass 'baluster' type vase from one of the Swedish glass manufacturers of the period. This is an extremely unusual colour for one of these vases and has a brighter yellow band around the rim and slighlty darker yellow swirls to the body (not immediately noticeable but most obvious at the underside/base). SOLD Dating from the 1970s here is a lovely clear glass 'Sunflower' votive holder designed by the legendary Goran Warff for Kosta, Sweden (he has been a designer there since the early 1960s). This pre-dates 1976 when Kosta merged with Boda and became Kosta Boda. Still in it's original box with the 'Sunflower' range name printed in various languages around the sides (Kosta Sonnenblume, Kosta Solei, Kosta Solros and, of course, Kosta Sunflower) it also still bears it's original gold foil sticker which reads 'Handmade Kosta Sweden' and comes with it's original night light candle! These came in a number of different colours and sizes - this one, being the largest in the range at a whopping 19in/48cm (we also had for sale the smallest at 9.75in/24.5cm which is now sold - please note that in the last photograph the two vases are shown together and this is the huge vase on the left). With a bulbous base and an attenuated flared neck this is an impressive item that would look fabulous with other brightly coloured glass of the same period. SOLD We think this is a particularly attractive bowl designed by Christer Holmgren for Holmegaard and dating from 1968. In a delicate pink coloured glass called 'Violetrosa' with an irregular wavy edge and pattern around the outside - it is fully signed and numbered to the base (shown in the extra photographs) with 'Holmegaard', the designers monogram of a 'C' with a dot in the middle and the numbers '620719'. Christer Holmgren's work doesn't seem to come up for sale as often as some of the other designers and is highly collectable - a nice piece of retro Danish glass. This is a beautiful large glass plate dating from the 1970's or thereabouts and designed by Pertti Santalahti for Humppila (Finland). Smooth like melted ice to the top surface, the underside fantastically rippled and textured with clear glass around the rim and a golden amber to the centre. It's a gorgeous, thick and heavy piece of art glass that looks amazing on display yet is practical enough to be used. This particular plate is unsigned however I did, until recently, own its smaller brother which was signed in full. From the famous Swedish glass makers, Pukeberg, is this amazing Viking figure. He's virtually identical in design to a ceramic Viking we had which was designed by Taisto Kaasinen in the late 1960's for the famous Swedish ceramics company Upsala-Ekeby. He's standing upright and wearing a cape, two horned helmet and is holding up a sword - this is a really nice piece of retro Scandinavian glass. SIZE: Height 4.5in/11cm Weight 388g

SOLDThis is a fantastic crystal vase - with a high lead content judging from the weight - in a tall cylindrical shape decorated with a modernist pattern of raised circles. Designed by Bengt Edenfalk for the Swedish glassworks, Skruf, where Edenfalk worked from 1953 until 1978. With a thick rim and base and hand signed to the underside with 'Edenfalk Skruf' it's an extremely impressive piece of quality retro Scandinavian design.
