This is a really funky large 1970s glass vase designed by Bo Borgstrom for Aseda Glasbruk (Sweden) in a fabulously vibrant blue coloured glass with a thick casing of clear to the square base, rising up through a long slender neck to a flower shaped flared rim at the top.  A nice tall and impressive piece, it looks superb on display especially with other glass from the same period.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a wonderful smokey glass vase designed by Tom Moller for the Swedish glassmakers, Reijmyre and dating from between 1960 and 1967, which is when Tom Moller worked there.   This is a relatively rare item, in an unusual shape like a large bulb vase and is fully signed to the base with 'Reijmyre Tom'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

More interesting and decorative glass from Elme Glasbruk (Sweden) manufactured in the 1960s or thereabouts.  It has an unusual bulbous base with a teardrop shaped indent/dimple and a long elegant neck and made from pale blue/opal case glass - it would look very pretty on display with other brightly coloured glass of the same period.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a beautiful mould-blown vase in smoke glass designed by Per Lutken - signed to the base with 'Holmegaard', Per Lutken's monogram and '15391' which dates this vase to between 1965 and 1970.  With a fabulously thick polished rim (see close-up) and an extremely thick base this is an elegant piece of retro glass.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a pair of fantastic quality Finnish blue glass tumblers designed in 1958 by Kaj Franck for Iittala (marked on the bases).  The photograph doesn't really depict the true 'blueness' of the glass, being deeper in colour and less transparent in reality.  They're thick and heavy and you can feel the quality - they display beautifully near a light source and would make a lovely gift or addition to a glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a lovely example of an early 1970's cased glass geometric hooped vase from Riihimaki/Riihimaen (Finland) designed by Tamara Aladin.   In a great amber/brown coloured glass lavishly encased in clear and in a brilliant shape.  This is a beautiful piece of retro Scandinavian glass that looks fabulous on display.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a great example of a 1969 glass vase designed by Nanny Still for the famous Riihimaki glassworks in Finland.  A lovely piece of turquoise coloured glass encased in clear in an ovoid/balloon shape.  It displays beautifully and would be a worthy addtion to any retro Scandinavian glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

From Riihimaki Riihimaen Lasi and designed by Tamara Aladin is this groovy red and clear glass cased Trumpet vase from 1976.  It's a lovely example with a nice chunky clear glass base, a thick flared rim and three fat hoops in the middle.  This is a really iconic piece of retro Scandinavian glass which displays brilliantly - especially if placed near a light source.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a very funky amethyst glass vase from one of the Scandinavian glass manufacturers - we're not at the moment certain which one (possibly by the Finish glassworks, Riihimaki, but we've not been able to positively ID it yet so at the moment that's just a suggestion).  It's a fabulous modernist/futuristic shape with a long neck and a deeply flared base in the most gorgeous shade of purple glass - this is a lovely example of retro Scandinavian glass and an amazing display piece.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
