The designs from Arabia in the 1960s were truly iconic and this is no exception.  A small 'Pomona' lidded honey pot decorated with Raija Uosikkinen's fabulous honeybee design.  Fully marked to the base and with it's original lid.  This particular pattern is very scarce/rare however all items from this range have become increasingly sought after in recent years.

CONDITION:  The transfer design is bright and scratchfree.  However, there is some crazing to the lid and a small firing crack to the base of the pot which, although totally original to manufacture and insignificant in our opinion has been well reflected in the price.

From Figgjo Flint (Norway) here is a tea trio consisting of a teacup, saucer and plate in the stunning 'Clupea' pattern by Turi Gramstadt Oliver.  Both the saucer and the plate are square in shape, the saucer is decorated in a complimentary plain green glaze whereas the plate and cup have a white glazed ground decorated with a repeating design of stylised herrings in shades of blues and green.  This is a highly collectable pattern that is becoming very difficult to find.

By the quality Danish porcelain manufacturer, Royal Copenhagen, here is a fabulous large Fajance 1972 year mug designed by Bodil Buch.  1972 saw Munich hosting the Olympics and the design on this mug cleverly incorporates an Olympic ring theme into the design as well as the date of course.  Fully marked to the base with the Royal Copenhagen mark, the artist's monogram and the copper button to the centre.

A Swedish design classic - a Bla Eld (Blue Fire) white side plate designed by Hertha Bengtsson in 1949 and manufactured by Rorstrand between 1950 and 1971.  It is decorated with a brilliant herringbone type diagonal surface pattern and in a bright white high gloss glaze.  Marked to the base with the three crowns and 'Rorstrand Sweden 582'. Offered for sale here is an absolutely fabulous rare item from the Rorstrand Atelje (Studio) range - an extremely large and very heavy ceramic wall plaque designed by Olle Alberius and decorated with a vibrant abstract bright orange glazed design in relief.  Olle Alberius worked for Rorstrand from 1963 until 1971 in the role of Artistic Director.  This is a seriously iconic example of Swedish design - marked to the reverse with the Rorstrand 'R' and three crowns studio mark, the artist's initials 'OA' and 'Sweden Kavalkad 9'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

By the prestigious porcelain manufacturers Aluminia Faience (part of Royal Copenhagen, Denmark), here is a stunning large bottle vase decorated with purple and blue lustred glazes by the designer, Kari Christensen.   Bearing the early pre-1967 'A' mark to the base (sometimes incorrectly referred to as a beehive) and signed with the artist's initials and pattern numbers this is a fabulous and relatively large example of quality retro Scandinavian pottery that looks amazing on display.

These jugs, from the famous Finnish manufacturer, Arabia,  date from the 1960s and are becoming very highly collected items indeed.  This particular jug is decorated with a stylised cow design - other designs in the series include a butterfly and a cat. Whilst I've often seen these attributed to the famous ceramics and glass designer, Kaj Franck, I haven't yet been able to establish if this is actually the case.  Fully stamped to the base with 'ARABIA (Wartsila Finland'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a truly wonderful vintage plate - from the famous Finnish ceramic manufacturer, Arabia, and in the highly sought after range 'Emilia' - which was in production from 1949-1964.  Designed by Raija Uosikkinen, it features a charming black on white illustration of an elegant lady on a bicycle wearing a big flowery hat and surrounded with flowers.  It is marked to the base with 'Arabia Made in Finland 8'.  Please see all photographs below for alternative views and close-ups.

This is yet another wonderful vintage plate from the Finnish ceramic manufacturer, Arabia, from the highly sought after range 'Emilia' - which was in production from 1949-1964.  Designed by Raija Uosikkinen, it is a rectangular shape with a slight dip to the plain end which may have been designed to house a bowl and to the other side is a charming black on white illustration of a two elegant ladies taking tea in a garden surrounded by flowers.  It is marked to the base with 'Arabia Made in Finland, Decor Protected by Glaze EMILIA 3' and the impressed initials 'MB'.  Please see all photographs below for alternative views and close-ups.

These are simply stunning!  From the famous Finnish ceramic manufacturer, Arabia, and dating from 1971 here is a matching set of two navy blue and white hand painted ceramic lidded pots designed by Hillka-Liisa Ahola.  These were probably intended for use on a lady's dressing table to hold small items.  One pot is short and round with a dark blue base and a white glazed lid beautifully decorated with a gorgeous paisley type design in various hues of blue and lilac, the other pot is tall with a dark blue lid and the same blue paisley type design all around the base.  They're extremely attractive and decorative items and of the quality one would expect from Arabia.  Hand painted to the bases with 'Arabia Finland H-L. Ahola/MRR' (to the base of the squat pot) and 'Arabia Finland H-L. Ahola/71' (to the base of the taller pot).  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

From Egersund, Norway, here is a really nice ceramic sugar bowl with a wooden lid dating from the 1950's.  With a brilliant repeating stylised pattern around the outside this is a decorative as well as functional piece of retro Scandinavian pottery.  Stamped to the base in brown with a circular stamp of the words 'Egersund Norway' around a picture of a Viking longboat.
