Buchan Pottery (Portobello, Scotland) 'Riviera' Stoneware Lidded Casserole/Vegetable Tureen |

From Buchan Pottery in Scotland and dating from the 1970s or thereabouts, here is a very attractive, and extremely useful, lidded casserole or vegetable tureen hand decorated with a stylised images of vegetables in the 'Riviera' pattern. This is an unusual design for Buchan - not one I come across often - and has a very slightly pale green tinge to the stoneware ground. Fully marked to the base. 1970's Vohenstrauss (Germany) Porcelain Lidded Vegetable Tureen |

Here is a fantastic Bavarian porcelain lidded vegetable tureen made by Vohenstrauss. It has an incredible curvy, organic shape with a diagonal ridge around the sides emphasised with a brown glaze. With a handle to each side and an equally brilliant lid - same organic, curvy form as the body of the tureen and also enhanced with the brown glaze. This is a very decorative piece of retro German porcelain and looks amazing on display. Marked to the base in green with an illustration of a castle and the words 'VOHENSTRAUSS Johann Sellman BAVARIA GERMANY - Spulmaschinenfest'. We have two of these for sale separately. Dating from the 1960's or thereabouts here is a brilliant Poole Pottery lidded vegetable tureen in the collectable 'Desert Song' pattern. With a fabulous orange coloured base with two flared handles highlighted in white and with a white lid painted with stylised flowers and leaves this is a very attractive yet also extremely usuable item, marked to the base with 'POOLE, ENGLAND, Desert Song, Detergent, Dishwasher and Oven Proof.' 1963 Portmeirion Pottery Blue 'Totem' Cheese Dome and Base by Susan Williams-Ellis |

In the scarce and highly collectable blue high gloss glaze and in the famous 'Totem' range designed in 1963 by Susan Williams-Ellis here is a gorgeous cheese dome and base - although these sometimes came with a wooden base this particular cheese dome has a glazed china base which is fully stamped with a circular backstamp to the underside and also to the inside of the dome with 'PORTMEIRION, TOTEM, SUSAN WILLIAMS-ELLIS, STOKE, MADE IN ENGLAND'. A must-have for any Portmeirion or retro ceramics collection. Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups. SIZE: Height 4.25in/10.5cm Diameter 7.5in/19cm Weight 1170g CONDITION: In lovely original condition other than a very small oyster chip to the bottom rim of the lid which does not show when it is sitting on the base (shown in photograph number 4). We believe it to be fairly insignificant but nevertheless has been reflected in the price. Other than this there are no other chips, cracks or hairlines.

A truly iconic design of symbols in relief this range comes in a variety of colours and items.
