Here is a fantastic large pale blue and opal cased glass Holmegaard Gulvase with original globe shaped ornamental stopper designed by Otto Brauer in the 1960's.  It's a very large example at 17.5in/44cm tall (including the stopper) in the collectable pale blue/white colourway with the flat flared rim typical of this range.  It looks amazing on display and is hard to find in this size with an original large decorative stopper.  An absolute beauty and an iconic piece essential for any serious retro glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Designed by Rudolf Schrotter in 1955 for Rosice (part of the Sklo Union glassworks) from a vibrant shade of green glass and in what's known as a bullet shape (this is the larger size - the two for sale below are smaller).  This is a lovely item that looks very much at home with the later modernist inspired pieces coming out of Czechoslovakia during the 1960's and displays well.  Has the expected footed 'birdbath' base.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is an extremely pretty Italian glass vase.  From the Oball glassmakers in Murano, Italy (still bearing the plastic manufacturer's label which reads 'Oball Vetreria Artistica, Murano').  Made from a vibrant pink glass thickly encased in clear with a thin line of black glass running through the clear section and with a cut/tonged rim.  With a flat polished (unsigned) base.  Would make a lovely gift!  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a gorgeous purple glass paperweight from Caithness Glass who are, quite rightly, famed for their amazing and highly collectable paperweights as well as their other glassware.  This has a flat 'window' showing a central bubble surrounded by purple, green and white swirls and was designed by Helen MacDonald - this particular design called 'Vortice' came in various other colours and was retired in 1999.  It has a flat base to sit on which is etched with 'V1430 Caithness Vortice Scotland'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

What an amazing piece of 1960's Italian glass this is!  From Guildcraft here is a large and rare vase in vibrant yellow, orange and white cased glass with a bulbous base going up to a long slender neck.  I've seen similar vases offered for sale but all have been much smaller, a different shape and nowhere near as decorative as this one - it's big, bold and beautiful - hard to top if you want to make the ultimate 1960's retro statement in your home!  Please see all photographs for alternative images and close-ups.

This is fabulous - dating from the 1960's or thereabouts here is an absolutely bright orange glass 'baluster' type vase from Elme Glasbruk (Sweden).  Bright, funky and extremely decorative this sits really well with other brightly coloured retro glass of the same era.  Please see all photographs for alternative images and close-ups.

This is a really funky large 1970s glass vase from Aseda Glasbruk (Sweden) in a fabulous blood red coloured glass with a thick casing of clear glass to the square base, rising up through a long slender neck to a flower shaped flared rim at the top.  A nice tall and impressive piece, it looks superb on display especially with other glass from the same period.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a really vibrant red glass 'Bamboo' vase designed by Bo Borgstrom in the 1970's for Aseda Glasbruk (Sweden).  With a thick casing of clear glass (over an inch thick at the base) in a great shape and a lovely colour - this is a fantastic retro item that looks superb on display - especially near a lightsource.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Designed in 1951 by Arthur Percy for the Swedish glassmaker, Gullaskruf, and in production until 1965 here is a bottle vase in a particularly vibrant shade of blue glass.  These came in a number of different colours and sizes - this one is the smallest in the range at 9.75in/24.5cm (we also have for sale the largest in the range at 19in/48cm - see above).  With a bulbous base and an attenuated flared neck these look very pretty on display and look fabulous with other brightly coloured glass of the same period.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a beautiful amber glass Holmegaard Gulvase/Bottle Vase designed by Otto Brauer in the 1960's. Here is an extremely attractive vase from Holmegaard (Denmark) and dating from the 1960's - in a vibrant shade of green glass and a tactile ovoid shape.  This was designed by the legendary Per Lutken and is signed to the base with 'Holmegaard', Per Lutken's personal monogram and '15470'.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Designed by Per Lutken for Holmegaard (Denmark) here is a set of 6 'Canada' port wine glasses in the smoke colour.  They have become hugely collectable and currently command high prices, this particular size retails from £15 plus per glass at replacement china and crystal outlets - however, this set of 6 is extremely competitively priced at recently obtained auction prices and offers quite a saving.  They would make a super stylish gift and are also extremely usuable - imagine sipping port from one of these in front of a cosy fire at Christmas time!  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a pair of fantastic quality Finnish blue glass tumblers designed in 1958 by Kaj Franck for Iittala (marked on the bases).  The photograph doesn't really depict the true 'blueness' of the glass, being deeper in colour and less transparent in reality.  They're thick and heavy and you can feel the quality - they display beautifully near a light source and would make a lovely gift or addition to a glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Designed by Jim Dyer for Liskeard Glass and dating from the 1970's here is a fabulous turquoise and clear glass V1 knobbly vase.  Liskeard Glass in Cornwall, now known as Merlin Glass, employed ex-Whitefriars employees which would probably explain the similarities to the Whitefriars knobbly range.  In a very vibrant shade of glass and with the Liskeard Glass LG monogram to the base this is a thick and chunky piece of retro glass that looks brilliant on display.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Yet another stunning, and unusual, piece of Mdina art glass.  This time in a dark browny/red tortoiseshell veined effect in a rich palette of colours it makes a truly fabulous display piece.  In a typical Mdina shape with a thick flared/flattened rim and a bulbous body, it is unsigned but is unmistakeably Mdina - it would make a worthy addition to any Mdina glass collection.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

Here is a fabulous Venetian art-glass fish sculpture from the master glass artist, Licio Zanetti, dating from the 1960's.  In a smokey brown coloured glass and with a very cheeky face this looks fabulous on display from any angle - the quality shines through.  This is an unusual piece - you'll probably not see another for a long time.  Fully signed to the base with 'Zanetti L'.   Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is a breathtaking vase designed by the legendary Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri D'Arte (Murano) where he was the artistic director from the late 1930's up until 1963.  This vase was was exhibited at the 1958 World Fair in Brussels and still bears its original fair label which says 'ARTE NUOVA MURANO, GRAND PRIZE, GENUINE VENETIAN GLASS, World Fair Brussels 1958'.  Made from a vibrant green and pale yellow glass in a superb organic shape - the rim tapering elegantly to a smooth rounded opening - it's an extremely tactile item and all in all, is an important piece of Italian glass from a highly respected and sought after designer.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

This is spectacular - a beautiful Murano/Sommerso 'Geode' bowl in amber and green glass thickly encased in clear.  As you can see it catches the light beautifully - this piece displays especially well if positioned near a light source; real or artificial.  It's heavy and tactile - the lovely round bowl contrasting well against the hard sharp line of the rim.  In my opinion this is Italian glass at it's very best, a real collector's piece.  With regard to the designer we believe it's either Seguso or Cenedese.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.

From Riihimaki Riihimaen Lasi and designed by Tamara Aladin is this groovy red and clear glass cased Trumpet vase from 1976.  It's a lovely example with a nice chunky clear glass base, a thick flared rim and three fat hoops in the middle.  This is a really iconic piece of retro Scandinavian glass which displays brilliantly - especially if placed near a light source.  Please see all photographs for alternative views and close-ups.
